To begin with I was a bit unsure about whether I should do anything about my high temples. But it had got to a point where I felt that I either had to remove my hair altogether or fill it in a bit to be able to style it as I wished. A friend of mine has had a hair transplant in Turkey, and I was unsure about whether I had to go outside the country, too. But when I Googled it, I found out that Master Clinic offers this in Norway. I had a meeting with Sten Thure at the clinic, where he explained carefully what opportunities I had, and I felt that I was very well looked after.
Sten was good at telling what he could do, what I would have to do afterwards, and what expectations I could have of the result. For my part, I wasn’t looking to get the hair line of a 22-year-old. My hair loss has increased gradually since my mid-twenties, but thankfully it has gone slowly. I have had a style that suited having high temples, but eventually it began to look a bit thin.
I am very glad that I made the leap when I did. The actual treatment went without a hitch, and I didn’t feel any particular pain. I just lay there, looking up at the ceiling and chatting about this and that with the pleasant doctor.
The best feeling is that I no longer need to take account of wind and weather to ensure that my hairstyle looks OK on a photo shoot or a TV recording. It has become easier to achieve the hair style that I want, I’ve greater opportunities to style my hair as I want it, and it takes less time in the mornings!
Some people suit a shaven head, but for me, a styled hairdo is part of my identity which I’m not ready to let go. I think that many other feel the same way, and I think everyone should be aware of the opportunities that exist if you do not want nature to take its course. I think that many people used to be a bit afraid of being teased for fixing their outward appearance. That’s not the case nowadays, thankfully: at least, I’ve never had any negative comments when I’ve told people about my transplant. Most people think it’s very exciting to hear about the treatment.
The treatment was carried out without shaving or cutting Tom Hugo’s hair.
